Interns are great. Interns do stuff that maybe you kind of don’t want to do. They also help you when you have too many things to do. The do database work, stuff mailers full of CDs, highlight things, print reports, update your website, and so on. Sometimes they move on after a few months and go back to school or find another job. Others, however, don’t believe in timelines. They just stick around, way beyond a semester, whether or not you decide to hire them. They also become friends with each other so watch out. They’re probably talking smack about you right now. JUST KIDDING. But, when I started interning at my office, there was another intern (who really has major responsibilities and is just an intern because of stupid international technicalities– she kind of runs the place) who helped me learn about how the office works. She showed me the effective ways of getting mailings done and, thanks to her (and DLV’s) guidance, coordinating mailings is kind of my job. Kind of. I’m actually not clear about my job, but that’s a whole other story. She’s also so good at knowing what to say to our boss. She is truly an inspiration. Anyway, her name is Rea and she has a blog. It’s great and you should read it. She has the best wit of everyone in the office. You won’t be sorry.
I have moved on from Beer Tuesday. It’s WINE TUESDAY now. HOLLA! I did work too. I’m glad my roommates aren’t here. They judge me when I do work at home. I don’t even work at home that much! I certainly didn’t work last night. But, I did eat SO MUCH red meat. I supposedly don’t even eat red meat anymore. But Sweet Ups had free bbq and the cheeseburger looked SO GOOD. And it was! And then DLV made something involving a burger and cheese and a tortilla and BBQ sauce and I had like 4 (at least) margaritas and it was DELICIOUS. I really like typing in CAPS. Sorry.
I have been listening to “Paper Planes” by M.I.A. a lot recently. I liked it for a while but lately, it’s just been in my head and I can’t stop listening! Victory is yours, M.I.A.
Word on the street is that The Real World will be filming in Brooklyn. Why must you follow me, MTV reality shows? Seriously.
